A Win98 user has just recently started losing mappings to network drives on an NT server. Re-mapping works only occasionally. Also, Network Neighborhood now only shows his PC. TCP/IP and NetBEUI are installed.

Can anyone help? This PC is virtually useless without network access.

How is the mapping done, by logon script or otherwise?

Problem with connectivity somwhere if only that PC shows up.

What's the error message he receives?
How is it setup to login? A domain?
Have you checked the cables, the hub or switch?
Does the network card have a diagnostic utility?

This is something that can happen when drives are mapped after logon, I have no idea why. It doesn't seem to happen if a login script that has the Net use command in it. Maybe it would be best to map that way?
