losing network connection

Hey guys, I have a windows xp pro box that keeps losing its network connection. I start it up, and its just fine,,, but after a few minutes it just loses the network connection. I'm not running any firewalls, I triple checked that. Anyone else have this problem??

What kind of a modem do you have? It is possible that you have a bad modem! Also check the power to your modem check your nic, ethernet cables, etc. When your connection drops depending on your modem look at what it is trying to do? If your modem is not reconnecting try going to run and typing ipconfig and see what your ip status is after your connection drops. I have had to replace 2 cable modems and put cable booster on my lines because my area can get weak signals!
