I run a gaming center and for about a month straight everything has been going perfectly... untill this morning. My internet connectivity on the internal network comes on and off about every 5 minutes, however, on the server itself, the connectivity never goes away. I already ran throught the hardware issues, changing the NIC and cables. This didnt work. Does anyone know where I can start next or has had a similar problem? Thanks

How do you connect to the Internet? T1, DSL, Cable...

What vendor of hardware are we talking about?

From a workstation establish a running "ping -t" on your gateway and other hops/servers/workstations along the way and see what fails and how often it fails. This should point you to a device causing the problem. Simple but effective.

I know what I know and that's all I know. What I don't know I will ask.

We are connecting through a T1. It is a Pentium class server, no Vendor specific. It is an internet sharing setup using Widows Server 2003. Thanks for the tip bob.

ICS have built in mini DHCP so if you just installed a another DHCP then it will clash.
