I have a compaq nx7000 running xp and use citrix for a remote accounting appication. While working in Citrix I lose my connection, however, I really lose complete connectivity on the laptop. i can't see, ping, or recieve anything outside of the laptop. I had my network admin try to ping me and he couldn't get a response, meanwhile I'm not showing that I'm disconnected. Trying to renew my ip doesn't work, I even ran netsh to renew my ip stack. The last time this happened I reloaded xp and the problem went away ... for awhile. I have had the same problem with the program neighborhood client in both 7.1 and 8.0. any ideas what may be happening and how I can correct it?

Thanks in advance for any pointers or ideas!

Have you tried sticking in a different network card and seeing if it happens to that?
Sounds like either a hardware issue with your laptop or a driver issue.

The only problem with that is that only happens when using citrix. I can be online all day, log into citrix and with minutes, I'm fragged. I've shut down everything else running the machine just to see if there might be a confict and nothing seems to help. I've checked error logs and the only thing that shows up is the error when i try to renew my ip that i cannot reach the dhcp server, ... becasue I've been somehow cut off. This is definitely something going on with citrix.
