Please tell me what load I need to go to to see how many loop (LPK) keys I have on my consoles. are loop keys similar to rollovers? So that if I have five loop keys my console can have 5 simultaneous calls? and will the 6th caller wait in queue? and how can I tell how long they'll wait? Will they queue until answered or is there some kind of timer? I need a crash course in Console 101 and appreciate all the help you can give me. Option 61C 25.40. thanks!

will show you that info, loop keys are more like mcr keys and with 8000 users i've never had all keys busy. average console call should be less the 10 seconds.

thanks, John. so, based on the below, how many loop keys do I have? or should I not even be looking for an amount of loop keys? I'm not a newbie but I've somehow managed to get through life without ever truly understanding how the 2250s work (even though i used to have to answer the console way back when)

we've talked before so i realize your a pretty good tech. why do you need to know the number of loop keys? and why can't you just look at the 2250.. ici incomming call indicators, ic1 to ic 19, you'll see that you have 2 loop keys.. and yes you'll get ring no answer usually if a 2250 is set up right, you have overflow timers and targets to handle set

The 2250 has 5 LPK keys and these are not programmable. No it does not work like a hunt if the Attendant is on a call. The console is more like a que. the attendant needs to place a call on hold to get another.

thanks for the correction, maybe i'll think a little better when i can look at my switch.. the older 1250's needed ici's defined if my history file is not destorted again. i've installed 100's of consoles, but 90 percent of the console is default anyway, mostly pay attention to the opts, they can surprise you as to system wide features they controll or affect

thanks guys. I just want to be prepared for a meeting today in which I know someone is bound to ask "how do these loop keys work?" thanks to you both i will now look like a genius!

okay, one more question. always five loop keys on 2250 console so that allows receptionist to juggle up to five simultaneous calls and sixth call waits in queue and all subsequent calls wait in queue till a loop key is freed up and if my memory serves me there's a key on the console that recept. can press to see how many calls are waiting?

It is Key DCW and it programmed in ld 12. You can also set CWUP to yes in ld 15 ATT data to update your console everytime the que changes.

thanks, Techman. Display Calls Waiting. Now I remember. Was I right about the loop keys? In that receptionist can handle five simultaneous calls and all subsequent calls queue up till a loop key is free?

hah! I wish I could but I can't. But thanks anyway. Have a nice weekend.

you have loop keys 0 through 5. which means you can have 5 calls on hold and talking to 1 more, but you will be out of keys. Everything else should be in que, but I am with Nortellian, when in doubt, test it out.

Thanks. If I can I'll try to test later today but I think that's what does happen.

also the m2250 attendant console user guide explains a lot. i'm guessing you have the manuals on cd. They are a must.

I will check in my switchroom. thanks again.

Just wanted to add that she/he must be a very talented individual to juggle that many calls at the same time. Do you use Park so att can get calls off of console, then page to park dn.

we don't use park here. Every call comes to main # and they immediately xfer and caller gets voicemail if party doesn't answer.

with voice mail, my att's dial the dn and connect rls, they are quicker then you can think about it.. remember the rls key is a must,, another note, call the att and try to hang up, don't happen, only the console can end that call.. called party control..

i just dialed 0, then pressed RELEASE and ended my call...they must not have called party control enabled. If that's even something that can be enabled/disabled.
