Lookup Field

Is it possible to have a lookup for just the last four numbers of an 8 digit number..so that when entering data ...by just entering the last four, all of the possibilites of numbers with the same last four will be in drop down to choose?..

I know that I can make the 8 digit number two separate fields of 4 each but
wondered if i could get around that?

You could convert the 8 digit number into a text string, strip away the first four characters and pop the results of all of them into a drop down combo box.
