Is anyone using Novell's single sign-on feature? I am in a k-12 environment and some computers are shared by several teachers. The student computers are Zen'd so I have no problem there. The teacher computers do not use Zen (for reasons I don't want to explain now). They complain about having to logon to Novell and then into Windows. How involved is it to set up Single sign-on? Any info/feedback is appreciated.

Not sure why you would want to NOT use ZEN. the DLU is awesome for getting past the 2 logins.. And if you don't want the rest of ZEN, just use one User policy with DLU enabled and associate it with your teachers.

However, if that's a no-go, the 4.9 client has an option to pass the Novell credentials through to the Windows login. It's in the "Advanced Login" part of the client options and it's called "Copy NetWare username to Windows". The problem with this method though, is that you will have to make sure all of the teachers have a local account that matches the Novell account. A little more difficult to use than the DLU.

I've never used the "Novell Single Sign-on" so I don't know if that is an option.

If the only reason you are asking this is to bypass one login, then use the other methods as mentioned by Marvin.

If your users have loads of logins, on several apps, then SSO will do the trick.

Works well most of the times, and is not very hard to set-up.
