Looking for chat app

Anyone know of a good free chat app that supports private chats, moderators, profanity filters, user ignore, etc.? I want to set up a "clean" chat server (unix) for kids where I can restrict the language without having to moderate it. A whiteboard feature is probably not a great idea (i.e. Babylon)

Any suggestions are appreciated.

There are few, the so far the best one is: bravenet.com they offer chatrooms, pols, etc... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

thanks, I was just registered there but was looking for something more configurable I could run on my own server. appreciate the help.
