Long range keyboard/mouse

I have my TV hooked up to my PC as a second monitor, in the next room. I need a wireless keyboard/mouse that will reach 20 or 25 feet, and it need not have any special features (ie. I want it to be cheap).

One other thing I'd prefer is if both the mouse/keyboard have an on/off button so the battery doesn't get drained, as I don't plan to use it every day.

Any ideas?

As as battery life, I'm not sure on that. I know some of the Logitech keyboards/mice automatically turn off if not used after some short amount of time. I didn't take time to read much depth into this. I've never used a keyboard or mouse by IOGear, but what products I have used have been pretty decent. The 2 KVM switches I've used by them in the past both worked very well.

Looks like most at NewEgg love this one, and some hate it. You could try reading the reviews there:

Actually, if you do get that one, PLEASE do post back with your personal experience. That seems like a tempting price to me, assuming battery life is halfway decent for that type of product. And though I don't have an excuse for it right now, hopefully I will in another 6 months to a year.

Hmm, that one looks like it's not being sold anymore. I saw it on newegg earlier, but it says "Deactivated Item" on newegg, and on PacificGeek it says "This item is no longer available."

Time to do some digging to see if I can find it.

Oh yeah, reading another thread on same/similar topic, I was reminded of the Gyration equipment - well worth the price, if you get it used especially:

Yeah, $80 isn't cheap, but consider what you're getting:
A really cool gyration-control remote that has no line-of-site issues. It doesn't need infrared, it just uses its own bluetooth dongle. The whole thing reaches up to 100 feet.

I got the remote only, a while back, used, on eBay. I was extremely happy - of course, right now, it's getting no use. But it's a remote with a mouse built-in, really. And of course, you CAN get a mouse, remote, and keyboard as apposed to just the remote and keyboard. I personally think you shouldn't really need a separate mouse, based on my experience. The gyration part is really cool. You can stand/sit anywhere, and it figures out what you're wanting to do - movement wise. The no line of site deal is pretty neat as well.

Well, the older ones are only a 25 to 30 foot range, but the one I got has a 100ft range... so you may want to check behind the ones you find on ebay to be sure which one... if you want to go that route. Also, battery life is good with the Gyration products in general, I think.
