I am attempting to paste the Visa and Mastercard logo's on the Blank Options Invoice form. The files I have tried are either jpeg or bmp however the dithering is terrible. The files are less than 32kb. Any suggestions??

Use gif because this files don't lose quality even when compressed because it uses the lossless algorithm while jpeg & bmp uses lossy algorithm which means some of the info about the picture is lost in compression.

The problem here is not gif vs jpg as all logos are stored in bmp format internally in the reports.dic dictionary.

Please see the following KnowledgeBase articles on PartnerSource or CustomerSource to match the Logo size (in pixels) to the physical size (in inches) and the resolution (in dpi). This will prevent the dithering you are seeing.

I've used those KnowledgeBase articles before with success sometimes. However, there are times when the graphic just doesn't work well in Report Writer. At those times, you either have to decide on pre-printed paper with the logo or Crystal Reports. Since Crystal Reports gives other functionality, I usually end up using that.

Our management also wants all 3 of ours logos in every report so we created 90% of GP reports in Crystal Reports. If only MBS would give us canned reports in CR, the software ships with GP anyway.

I did attempt the Techknowledge solution along with the different format suggestions, however did end up having the form pre-printed as the form was custom already.

I do agree with Dukester0122 though that as ReportWriter has numerous limitations it would be advantagess for Microsoft to promote a Crystal library of custom reports.

This has been on our wish list every Convergence with few user-groups but nothing material has happened the past 2 years.

Microsoft is no longer including Crystal Reports with new purchases. With the release of Microsoft's SQL Reporting Services, they will look to use this product as its reporting solution, instead of Crystal Reports.
