Hi

I have just installed a XP client and connected it to our SBS2003 network. I have set all the local settings like they should, but apparently this didn't affect the settings on the logon screen. We use an AZERTY keyboard, but the input still happens with QWERTY. How can I change this?

Thanks

Steven

Stoemp,

Have you tried this?:

Removing US Keyboard Option

As a user with Administrator rights click Start, Control Panel, Printers and other hardware text or Keyboard applet icon.

Click Hardware tab, ensure keyboard Type is selected and click Properties.

From the Date, Time, Language and Keyboard option and Regional Options tab, set Location to Whatever you need and click OK.

Right click the EN icon on the Task Bar.

Select Settings...

Select English [United States] and click Remove, followed by OK.

And/or

Start / Control Panel (or Start / Settings / Control Panel in classic view)
Double-click Regional and Language Options
Go to Languages
Click Details under "Text Services and Input Languages"
Click Add under "Installed Services"
Find "Your Language" in the list and then click OK
Remove the default language and make the language of your choice the default language

It may bring a problem with Login screen (User ID and password usually are not in other Languages, so you will not be able to type them if your keyboard is in another Language mode). But this apears to be what you want.

Click on Apply below right and Windows finds the New Language keyboard layout file - ????.dll

Please Post Back If This is or is not successful.

Hope It Is What You Needed.

Hi rvnguy

Thank you for your reply, but this didn't work. The fact is that I already changed every local setting that I could imagine. There's only one input language in the list (Dutch Belgium), so normally it should work.

On the login screen, I see the blue "NL" icon that shows me the input language is "NederLands" (Dutch in English).

Everything gives me the impression of having the right settings, but it doesn't work... Any other suggestion?

Thanks

S.

Ok, I solved it. I had to check a checkbox that applies the settings to the basic profile.

Thanks for the reply.
