We have a windows 2000/Citrix Meaframe XPe server farm in a windows 2000 AD domain which also has Novell servers for file and print. The Terminal servers run Novell client 4.9

Everyday or two one server (not a particular one, it can be any) will lose its logon screen and will stop accepting connections. When you go to the console it has a blue screen (not a screen of death, just a blue back ground screen). The only way to recove is to reset the server as ctrl+alt+del does nothing.

When the server comes back up I can log in but the only error in the event viewer is that the system was unexpectantly shutdown (when I press the reset button).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you tried running some counters to see if something hardware wise is going on? We had something like this on a couple of our servers. Ended up being the NIC on both. One was just a file server and the other a sql server. We use
Dell servers and put a NIC recommended by them in both and all is well.
