Whenever I try to have a Windows 2000 Professional computer try to join a Windows NT4 Server Domain, the computer keeps saying the user does not have enought access to access the domain or there is a duplicate user (or something to that fact). However, I can map a network drive on Windows 2000, but it will not let me join the domain.

However, if I logon from a Windows 95/98 computer, I can join the NT4 Server Domain and access share just fine without any problem. I have search the web for simular problems but have not see anyone with this problem.

Couple of points.

- 95/98 machines don't really join the domain - you just amend their network properties to give you a 'domain logon' box. Then any valid domain user account can logon from there.

- you do need to join the domain with a 2k machine - and for that you need a domain user account with the right privileges to do this (normally, but not necessarily, a domain administrator).
