I am having a problem that just started. All of a sudden users cannot access a DC that is being used as a file server. This system has been up without a problem for over 2 weeks and then suddenly this morning my users could no longer access the shared drive. I looked at the event log on both of the DC's and saw that there was a problem with the DNS service and the Netlogon service, on the other DC that runs these services. I restarted the DNS service and got it up and then restarted the Netlogon service. I then restarted the other DC assuming that the problem would then heal itself. No luck, Only users that are part of the administrators group can get access to the shared drives on the DC. I went in and checked the permissions on the shared drives and set them up again to make sure that they were correct. The users have explicit permissions to access the shares and yet cannot. I also have the problem described in KB article Q271213. Before I try to rebuild the directory service shares is there anything else that I might have missed. Thanks for any guidance and help.

Thanks, but I was able to fix the problem. As soon as I went in to the registry and made the start of the Netlogon service dependant on the start of the DNS service, the problem solved itself.
