login to domain after VPN session established

is there any way to authenticate to a domain after establishing a vpn connection ?

we use nortel contivitiy client, with defender soft tokens

basically user logs on locally onto their laptop, then connects to the vpn, how could they then login to the domain (NT4, migration to 2003 AD sometime this year) to gain access to drives etc

Where do the users go when the client is established ?
We use Nortel Contivity vpn HW & SW. When my client connection is established I am authenticated(via Radius) to
the domain.
