Login scripts on standalone server

Does anyone know if it is possible to setup Win95/98 login scripts on a standalone server?

Why would you want to do that? I think that the scripts need to be on the authenticating agent (BDC-PDC) that would be when they execute. A Member Server (stand alone) does not participate in Domain authentication so how do you get authenticated? If you log into a Domain put your scripts on the BDC-PDC and taylor them to user profiles. If you want to have a script provide a specific mapping or functionality you are able to set those up in the user profiles.

Thanks festerrob and good question. Why indeed? Well, I've actually inherited a system with a member server only - no domain controllers at all!! So am I wasting my time with this server? Should I re-install NT as a PDC? And if so, can I simply re-install or do I have to format that partition?

You can format the partition as part of the new NT PDC installation. I would boot the system with the NT installation CD-ROM in the server and install a fresh copy of NT. (Make sure you have all drivers and needed software. Also, make sure there is no needed data on the server.)
