Recently I've been getting helpdesk calls from win95&98 users that they can't log on to the domain because they get an error message that reads"The request is not being accepted by the network. Please try agin later"..Now once I removed the login script rom their profile they log in just fine..this problem is happening more and more everyday. I also read a thread that said it my be that all the IP's are used but i have the server renewing the ip's everyday at about 6:00 am..

Set the IP lease at about 2 weeks and see if your problem goes away.

How many computers and what scope?

The IP's lease expires everyday...Our available leases are at 36%...We have a total of about 100 users and so far we've copied the login scripts from our pdc to all our other six servers thinking that this might solve the problem...

How often do you users/computers change? If it is only occasionally then you should set a longer lease time. 1 day means a DHCP renew request sent after 12 hours (probably switched off by then anyway).

Lots of DHCP traffic. Renews will be sent at 6pm for anyone still swtiched on. Could be a traffic prob.

Is this occuring with all Windows 95/98 users? What type of privileges do these people have? It could be that you have the administrative privileges set too high on the NETLOGON folder on the PDC. There was one time where I did not want anyone to be able to alter logon scripts and therefore, I only gave administrator privileges to that folder. As a result, no one's, except administrators, logon scripts would execute. I then gave everyone read capabilities on this folder and everything went back to normal
