I need a script to copy a particular file ( virus definitions ) to clients. The issue is....this file needs to go into c:\program files\officescan 95 folder

\\myserver\ofcscan\lpt$vpn.* c:\program files\officescan 95

at the source the c:\program files is an invalid UNC name due to the space....Is there a way to make this a valid UNC name? perhaps a character I could add to make this work? Maybe a free ware application to push these virus updates?

Are you wanting to force/push the updates to the clients or have them pulled by the clients during login?

c:\program files\officescan 95 is not a UNC, it is a physical/local location. If the updates were being pulled by the clients via a login script, I don't know why there would be a problem with them accessing this server share and copying the updates to a local path. Doug

As dxd says, it is a local not unc name. You should be able to get around the problem with using

copy \\myserver\ofcscan\lpt$vpn.* c:\progra~1\office~1
as this makes use of the ms dos names instead of the long filenames.
