Login, passing passwords

Hi i have a form, membersarea.php and when it basically allows me to login, i have a form where the user enters their un and pw. Then they click a button which redirects them to login.php but to pass the password and username at the moments it puts them in the address. i.e. login.php?UN=WJP&PW=123. That kinda makes it unsecure, how do i change it and make sure that the details from the form arent passed via the address??

in the form tag include the method attribute and set it to post. likeso:
<form method=&quot;post&quot; action=&quot;phppage&quot; ...>
