Hey all,

I have several computers on my network that are used by more than one person. With previous versions of Client32 I could edit properties so that if person B logged in after person A, person B's login and password would be passed along to the Windows login process. Now that I'm at 4.9SP2 my process no longer works. If person B logs in after person A, person B gets a second, Windows login screen with person A's name on it and asking for a password. Once person B enters his or her name and password the login process finishes just fine. Is there an additional step with 4.9SP2 that I can tweak so my users don't get so confused and flustered? I'm running XP SP1 (<--and will continue to do so for several months) and Novell 5.0 SP6. At least I'm pretty sure it's SP6.

Thanks,

Joe Brouillette

There is a setting in the client that will do what you want..

Go to the Red N, right client and hit Client Properties.. Under Advanced Login, find "Copy Netware Username to Windows" and enable it. Note that this setting is handy but can come back and bite you sometimes when you're not expecting it. For example, if you try to login as yourself but you don't have a windows username on that system, you won't be able to login.

You could also setup a DLU if you are using Zenworks. This is probably the preferred method.

Thanks marvhuffaker! Having a Windows username isn't a problem because everyone is also logging into a Windows2000 domain. I'll give this a shot and see what happens.

Thanks again,
