Hello

I have an SQL SERVER 2000 instaled in a Windows 2000 Advanced Server and use the administrator account but I canºte attach the backupExec to device due a login problem (Login Failed). What could be the problem ? Im sure that the password is correct and I use the nt security scheme. This problem only appears with version 2000 of the SQL SERVER , we have installed version 7.0 and it worked fine.

Thanks in advance

What account are you using for the backupExec services? (I'm assuming the administrator account you mentioned above is for the MSSQLServer & SQLServerAgent accounts).

Or better yet, could you list the service settings for all of the above?

Thanks,

Tom

All the services use the administrator account.
With de SQL SERVER Profiler using Security Audit Event Classes, the column for the "ntusername" is blank for the BackupExec Services entries and the login name column shows the correct domain\username.
The problem is in the BackupExec services but i can't figure what i'm doing wrong.

thanks again

I use a valid domain account for each BackupExec service, not a local administrator account, not that it may matter...

I have also seen similar problems when there is an issue with the tape drive's driver.

Also, I've seen a case where you have to reboot the computer before you can successfully access the tape drive from BackupExec, but I can't remember the reason for that...
