Ok, I've got Crystal Reports10, all set up on my server (Windows 2000, IIS) and I'm using the "beginhere" sample from the BO web site samples.

Everything works fine when I serve a report with no real data in it. The problem occurs when I use a live report and try to view/refresh it. I get an error:

Error Occurred Reading Records: Logon failed. Details: 28000:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user '\'.

Now I can open and view the .rpt on my pc, and when I'm on the server, I can also open and view the report, leading me to believe that my DNS connections are all ok. However, when I try to view the report through my browser, I get the above error, so I'm assuming that someone or some process doesn't have access to view the data, or doesn't have access to go through the browser to the SQL database?

Anyone ever have this problem? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

I am administering a test CE environment.
I got some reports from a developer recently and they run ok in CMC when set to 'custom' database config info.

They will not run via the web app the same developer built, unless they are configured to use 'original' database connection information. The application gets a 'sql server logon failed' message, so same problem as you. I do not have an answer; did you find one?

CE10, asp.net application, CR10 reports are using sql server stored procedures.

Thanks!

My problem ended up being custom code in the application which was accessing the report.
