Login Credentials

When I try and put a Windows 2000 Server from a Workgroup into a WinNT Domain i get the following message

"The credential supplied confict with an existing set of credentials."

Any Idea on how to put it on

I suspect you have some sort of pre-existing connection to the domain you wish to join from that computer. Try restarting the computer and logging in to the local Admin account. Make sure there are no logon scripts or persistent shares. Then attempt to join.

Cheers I looks like it has worked

I rebooted the server and now i am getting another error message saying that the account is not created on the Nt Domain in the trust relationship.

From the Windows2000 end, do i need to set up anything else ???

There is some sort of trust or connection established between the Workgroup you computer is in, and the domain you wish to join. I would look in AD Domains in Trusts for references to the Workgroup your machine is in. Also look in the registry on the machine in question for refernces to the domain you wish to join.

Another thing to try would be changing the name of the Workgroup your machine is in to another non-existent one, and then joining the domain.
