LOGGING ON PROBLEM!!

Try to log on as different users and also in safe mode and does excatly the same each time which is:

Ctrl+Alt+Del screen ..... Log on using username and password....says it's loading personal settings......then of all a sudden it goes to saving settings and retunrs back to the ctrl+Alt+Del screen.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so how do u get round it as it's an important machine!

Have you tried repairing windows? Boot to the WinPro CD SEtup and choose to Repair an Existing Windows Installation. If that doesn't work, you can try the recovery console. Here is a link for the Recovery Console if you need it,

I had the same exact problem recently for a WindowsXP Home computer. I tried to do the Repair as Mattwray suggested. After trying many things the only way to resolve this was to reinstall the OS. What happened in my case was a Malware worm infected the workstation. Right after I cleaned the system after the reboot I could not login and got the same exact messages you were getting, "Loading Personal Settings" and then "Logging off".
