Hi guys,
can anyone please tell me why whenever we log off from OWA we get the log in prompt again (it only happens when we use the front end server)? . it started after we installed e2k sp2.

Exchange 2000 sp1 and below don't have the log off button, SP2 does..

That isn't what he was asking. :)

Are all the virtual directories set to the same authentication method? I've heard of this but don't recall exactly how to fix it. Have you tried using SSL on the Front-End? Sorry I can't remember the resolution to it. Dan

yes Dan all the virtual directories are set to the authentication method. and also we have ssl on the front end server. thanks!

Hi Vibestayo,

There are a few things for you to check here. Since the password feature is controlled by the EXCHWEB\BIN Virtual directory (logoff.asp) you must check your authentication method. If you have the authentication method here changed to Basic Authentication it will ask for the username and password everytime. If you set this to "Integrated Windows Authentication" instead, your users will not have to retype their password to logoff (it will cache the info in HTTP for the user and use it when asked). If you're using SSL, this will all occur encrypted. I am also using the Diguest authentication for Windows Domain Servers as well, but I do not think that this has any bearing on your situation. You definitely do not want anonnymous set as the account used will not have enough access.... Let me know how this goes...
