Log print files

i'm trying to set up all network printers to log print files. we're running win2000 network and all printers have fixed ip addresses. however, i cannot find file or folder where the logs are supposed to be saved. if you go to event viewer - it's empty.
i would be more that greatfull if somebody can explain how to set this up.
