I have a laptop PC running XP Home Edition that we attempted to install the Novell XP4.91 client onto. We did so successfully but now we seem to be locked out of XP altogether. I've tried all of the known passwords but we cannot seem to get into the system. I was able to get the machine into Safe Mode and log in as another user but I do not have the rights I need to remove the client and reset the passwords.

What non-destructive options do I have at this point? Is there any way to reset all passwords for all users or just the Owner account so that I can have access to the Computer Management option?

Thanks

Can you login as administrator in safe mode (no password on XP home). You should be able to uninstall it from there.

I was able to log in as administrator and change the password. Now my problem is with the Novell 4.91 client. I cannot seem to locate any trees or servers. I am running Novell 4.11 and a W2K server and I'm hoping to log into both servers with this new client. I can access both servers from a W98 client using the Novell client for W98 and so I expect the same functionality with this client.

Any suggestions on how to resolve or diagnose this problem?

Novell Client is not compatible or supported on Windows XP Home or Millennium editions.

Thanks for all the help. It looks like I;ll have to upgrade to XP Pro or other O/S.
