Locked Out - FE & BE Security

I think I may have gotten myself in a bind here. I had done FE and BE security and placed on the shared drive. However, my wrkgroup file and FE shortcut got deleted (my own fault). But there still is one file which I believe to be the original database (.mdb)...but when I open it I get the error message that I don't have rights. I tried joining the original security.mdw file but that didn't work either. Have I completely locked myself out and lost months of work? Please any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

accessewbie,

Can 't you create a new .mdw and name it as the deleted file, using the same values for at least the user name of the administrator and his PID? (I hope your answer is yes!)

That way you could get at least your data from the BE database. Then re-create all the rest.

When done, keep a copy of everything in a safe place (i.e. on a CD)and schedule a back up procedure on a daily basis for that shared place.

Good Luck.
