On opening my database, I received a message that a user accidently quit Microsoft Access while working in the database and ask if I want to repair the database. (Access.lockedfile.9 message) If I say yes I receive a message that it is not repairable or not a access database file. I lost a lot of information and try to retrieve it. I am only a Access user and got no one to help me to do this.

Follow his Recovery steps and see how it goes.

If you are using Jet3.5 or latter, try running the compact instead of repair. Compact will fix many errors in the latter versions that repair will not check

Thanks

Thanks for responding Paul and Glen and for the new tips on recovering a database. I deal with the "lost network connection before", on this you can open the database and at least recover your tables but with this "Access.lockfile.9 message" there's no way opening the database and we lost our history. (This message appear in the logfile)It keep on telling you that one of the users locked the database although the user is locked off.
