It can't be "never"...One of the applications connected to your database is holding your resources and doesn't free them.If you are connecting to your database by a program you create,don't forget to commit the changes after successful modification such as an update or a delete etc.
Also there is a parameter named as lock timeout.It is the period of time of an application waiting to get a lock.If the time becomes up,then db2 raises an error message indicating that lock time out had occurred. Salih Sipahi
