Lock properties / authoring in a word document

I was wondering if there's a way to lock the properties of a word document so that my work cannot be stolen by someone else ?

can you be a little more specific?

If you mean can you display your work and make sure no one copies any of the information/photos I believe the answer is NO. What you wnat to do is create a PDF document with Adobe Acrobat and set the security levels so that people cannot copy, print, or extract photos.

In Word, you can password a file but once a use has the file open, you don't have as much control over the reuse of the information.
