Hello

Maybe seomone has any idea. I am working now a little while on this trouble.

We have a mixed domain w2k/AD and nt4 standalone and BDC Servers.
I set up a Local User on a nt4TS, put it to the local Administrator because otherwise he cannot start the exchange admin tool which should be the only thing what should appear on the desktop. Therefore i created a policy where i disabled everything except this icon.
When the user logs on locally on this server, the policy is perfectly ignored.
He is logged on as normal user and see everything in the start menu.
i put the uname.pol into the /winnt/system32/repl/import/scripts/ dir which is shared as "netlogon" and in the usermanager i set the logon script name to "netlogon/uname.pol" but it is not working.

Might it be that i can only use a group policy ??
There must be a solution for give the local user a local policy.

please if someone has an idea give me the info

thanks in advance

Shouldn't the policy file be called ntconfig.pol (not uname.pol) in NT? (you specify individual user policies within that).
