Start / Settings / Printer / Add Printer

The check box for 'add local printer' is greyed out - same results logging in as a user and as an administrator.

Could it be that the Administrator Group has been set up incorrectly?

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the printer is not a Plug-and-Play printer.

I am seriously coming round to the conclusion that I am no longer logging on to the PC as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group. I used to have this privilage but everytime the PC is 'worked on' it seems to disappear.

Thanks anyway.

Do you have the parallel and/or other port enabled and configured without conflict in the system BIOS? As a habit I routinely disable these functions in client workstations, and only enable on machines that need them.
