Local Admin Rights

Hi there,

I've drawn a blank on this one....an employee has got a new Sony laptop and this has been built to go onto their Domain. This works ok, and users can log on/off. We have made this particular domain user profile a member of the local Administrators Group on the laptop.

Now here is the problem...I am trying to install a local USB printer (HP all-in-one 2210) using it's own HP software. It starts to perform the pre-install checks and the install passes on all of them except the Administrator Rights. For some reason it fails on this, even if I log onto the laptop with the Local Admin user profile, or even my own domain user profile, which is Domain Admin (domain admin is also a member of local admin group). For some reason, just cannot get this laptop to recognize administrator rights.

Any help is greatly appreciated.....

Thanks

Have you tried logging in a the local administrator, rather than a domain user with local admin?

Hope this Helps.

I ran into this problem before. All I had to do was take the PC off of the Domain and put it in a workgroup, then put it back on the Domain (rebooting after each). Don't know if it will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

Yeah I tried using the local admin account and logging onto the laptop. still wouldn't pick the rights up.

Thanks mpnut, I will give that a try this week. weird though eh? Let you know how I get on....

Hope this Helps.
