Loading Programs at Startup

Is there any way to inhibit loading of application programs until after ME has completely loaded itself? Many programs, particularly those which try to access the internet or write to disk, seem to interfere with ME's loading, and lock up the computer. Cntrl/Alt/Del won't work, and power off is the only way to reboot. That leads to more problems. Am I wrong, or is this a basic flaw in ME?

Thanks, Wolluf. I've used MSConfig to disable all programs I don't really need. I just wish that the remaining programs (such as antivirus, firewall, UPS Monitor, and Cable Modem) could wait until ME is completely loaded before they start up. It seems like I ought to be able to specify the loading order.

Suppose you could create a batch file that runs all your other entries, and put a pause at top of it. Then you can press a key to let it continue when you're happy ME has loaded (put the batch file in the startup folder for example - and disable the other entries when transferred). Don't know if this would improve matters - but you could 'experiment' to find out (might be even more annoying of course!)
