I would like to load a configuration file to a 1720 router over the console port. I have done a 'write erase' to erase the previous installation. I have the configuration I want to use on a PC connected to the router's console port.

How can I do this?

Thanks for all help!

do 'enable' and 'conf t', so you get to a prompt like this:
Router(config)#

Then open your config file in notepad, and copy it onto the clip board. The go to the Edit pulldown menu in Hyperterminal and select 'paste to host'. This puts the config on the router.

When finished do 'copy run start' to save the config.

Job done.
