load image based on variable...

I have a flash movie which loads up dynamic text and I was wondering if it were possible to pull up an image the same way. I tried using <img src=""> in the text but it would not work. Is it possible to tell flash to create a blank image and load it from variable img in a text file? I am using Flash MX 2004 pro.
