Hi every one.

I have a slight problem with Citrix and Load balancing and I wonder if any one else has come across this before.

I want to use the "Application User Load" evaluator so I can limit the number of licences of an application in the farm. E.g. I want 5 users of Excel 2003, but this could be able 5 users in the farm of 100 users.

When I create the the evaluator i get the option of the number of instances of the applction i want to run on the farm and the final step is to click on the drop down and assign the rule to the choosen Application. When I click the drop down there are no applications in the list...

Any one have any ideas on why the list is empty please?

Im using Windows 2000 x 3 servers / Citrix FR3 SP3

Cheers

Paul

Sorry this is a bit of a guess. But publish Excel normally and then go and edit the load balancing bit afterwards.

Hi Ascotta

I've given that a go already - it assigns the evalautor to the application fine but it doesnt appear in the drop down. The other strange thing is that it always defaults to 100, even though I am changing it to 5.

Something is quite right somewhere... not sure where tho :)

OK her is what I just did on my farm.

Created published app (notepad)and published from 3 servers. Gave it a farm limit of 5.

In load evaluators I created a new load evaluator and called it test1 changed the limit to 5 and in drop down it had a list of apps.

Hmm just gone into look and is now blank instead of 5.

I wonder if changing the number of instances in farm might just do the trick rather than using an evaluator, have a try.

Hi ascotta

I will give this a go - have limited the instances to 5 on the farm for this published app - hopefully this will do the same.

Thanks for your help.
