LJ4300 Disable Paper Type Question on Paper Load

Hi

We have two new 4300 printers, every time we load any paper it asks for the paper type (and for Tray1/MF the size).

Users selecting the wrong type is often the cause of incorrect tray selections by the machine. Is there any way of disabling this question?

Print the menu map. Arrow to the right once to information, then item through till you find menu map, also get a configuration page. ( I hope this is accurate, as it is all from memory! ) If there are any internal settings for this, one of those pages should show it. I hope this helps. Have a nice day!!!

Change tray 1 mode from casette to first. This will cause the printer to always from from tray 1 first if there is media loaded in it, regardless of the paper type specified on the printer or in the print job.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the posts, I cannot seem to find anything on the menu map. It could be that we are stuck with it.

I cannot change the tray 1 mode as we have 4 trays with different paper loaded in each tray. The tray 1 is loaded with letterhead.

Oh, sorry. I misintrepreted what you were asking in your first question.

Do you have the paper type (not size, type) set to ANY? Based on what I read in the manual, you need to specify the paper type.
