Live Music on Hold over IP....This feature is available on MCD 7.0. Anyone set it up? Says to point to a programmed SIP device but how does the SIP device stream to internet.

Its explained a bit in the help files. Looks like you give a sip device of some kind access to the internet that has a connection to streaming music that is used for the MOH. The help file also says its been provided primarily for VMCD due to it not having a hardware MOH connection. So i assume there must be sip devices that one can connect to the internet to stream music much like internet radio's....its a simple DN to the SIP device which is then put automatically on hold.

Did you get anywhere with the Merbridge demo? We're looking to do the same thing. I just submitted a request, too.

Hi Jay,

Yes, I got the .ova file from Merbridge and a demo license for a month.

Software looks very much like the Mitel msl, it is very very very very very easy to set up, it took me about 15 minutes by following their installation manual.

The hardest part was to find a radio station url.

Merbridge should be a small company, it takes ages before they replay to your emails. Last email I sent over a week ago and I still haven't heard from them.

My advice is that you insist and keep sending emails until they reply.

What I didn't like is the price, it is way too expensive, and so is Software Assurance. I would have bought it if under 300-400 dollars but it is a lot more expensive than that. Ask them to send you price list.

it is just a software and if you compare it to other Mitel applications it is a lot more expensive. We bought a foundation Windows 2012 R2 last week and this was cheaper than Merbridge MMOH.

Give us your feedback when you test it. It is a cool feature to have but an expensive toy.

I was testing earlier with my home system using a noisy power supply and non ideal transformer, but I do have a Grandstream HT-503 connected providing music via my toner.

The circuit looks like this, with a clean power supply and transformer this should be able to connect to most any source.
