listening to USB com port

Hi folks,

I have a USB device which i know is streaming logging type data through the port. This is so special software can gather this and parse the raw data and present it to user in a clear manner. However, as i don't have this software i was wondering if anyone knows a simple way to listen to the port and log the data to a file for post processing by myself. Windows 2000, possibly a DOS type tool or something??
