I am dialing Chicago via an AT&T SDN trunk. Sometimes the calls are misrouted by AT&T (or so it seems). I have a ticket open with them. My Defintiy question is:
When I do a list trace station (originating station), I receive an "Alert trunk-group x member x" AFTER the "proceed trunk-group x member x" during the call processing. The call leaves the switch but seems to lose DNIS in the process and is dumped to the BTN of the receiving SDN trunk. Any ideas what "Alert trunk-group x member x" during a list trace station (or tac, for that matter) means?

Alert means that the phone on the other side is ringing and you have ringback tone.

What happens after that? Plan your work............Work your plan

I only get alert output on calls that are being routed incorrectly on calls across the AT&T network.

OK, well perhaps it's because of the type of lines. I tested this in Holland and in my case that was the case.

I'm afraid I can't help you any further then.

The last thing you can do within your Definity is checking all the route patterns.

Perhaps in some of them digits are inserted or deleted while they shouldn't and the wrong number is sent to the SDN trunk. Plan your work............Work your plan

In fact, perhaps it is wise to start checking ARS digit conversion tables, ARS Analysis tables, Toll Tables, and then the route patterns.

Plan your work............Work your plan

Don't know if this will help or not, but every AT&T trunk group I've ever set up in the US has required that no prefix mark be specified in the route pattern and megacom is specified as service/feature. When you troubleshoot with AT&T they will be able to tell you exactly what digits you are sending them.
