Just wondering if how many of these phones you guys have had to send back to your suppliers to fix the fault where the phones suddenly decide not to initialise and lock up.
Generally they stop with the DND, Headset, Mute, Speaker key, Message wait lamp and display lit and do nothing else. Or they introduce a very loud buzz on the line during conversation.

We're up to 40 in the last year and I was wondering how many other have had this issue.

Have you tried upgrading them to the latest version prior to sending them back? We sent a couple back which got fixed by a software upgrade so we always upgrade ours to the latet version when our engineers go to site. Its cut down on returns to our distributor.

I get no response from the phones when they enter the locked up state and the phones that introduce the loud buzz during speech now have the latest version.
I'm a little tired of sending these back and the first 10 were replaced directly from new stock.
So I was wondering about the number of failures others may have had as we are meeting an LG bigwig from Korea soon and wish to give our distributor motivation to share the cost replacing these phones, courier charges and labour.

I had that loud noise fault on my own remote handset and sent it away for repair. That was 6months ago now and we havent had another phone like it since. Are you using the gig handsets 8012e? Weve had a few now and majority have a slight static on the line when the user speaks. We were waiting for the distributors response too before we ship out to our endusers. What country you from?

I am in New Zealand.
As yet we have not received any of the gig LIP phones.
We are still having ongoing issues with the noise on phones and not starting up but i believe it is due to old stock being supplied.
