Hello,

we have the following problem while restoring linux backups:

1. we make a backup on some dirctories on a linux server.
2. we delete the directories.
3. we want to restore them from tape.

all what we get is a error 9112 in the arcserve log on the backup-server : AW0076 E9112 Failed to write to destination directory, Client Agent rejected the request.

only when wie create a empty directory with the same name of the backuped direcories, then the files will be restored.

But this is also possible when we set the option under target to : do not create root-directory ( translated from the germen version of arcserve2000 )

we hae ARCSERVE2000 and the linux backup agents V 5.0.0

LINUX backup agents ?

Which flavour of LINUX ?

We are having problems with Redhat8 and ARCserv and are told there is no support.

To help you with your problem are these symbolic links or the actual files ? If there links you've only backed them up .. NOT your files.

Not sure but perhaps there is a permissions problem.

Not sure about the linux agent but the UNIX agents have a debug mode enabled by entering uagent start -v and writes more details to uag.log.

We use Suse Linux SLES 8.
And that are not symbolic links, that are actual files.
