I have a Linksys router and I enabled WEP to try and make it a bit more secure. I can browse wonderfully and download. I did do a test on dslreports.com/tweaks and it did say that I was ICMP unpingable. Sorry if this next question appears stupid. I saw my own IP address when I did a ipconfig and pinged it fine. But was I able to ping because I am doing a ping from within the network, not outside of it. Trid going over the Linksys online guide and it didnt say much to ensure you are encrypted. Thanks

You make yourself pingable by changing the router setting: block WAN requests

Ummm, if I'm reading this correctly, of course you can ping from other machines in the network. WEP is to keep unwanted machines out of the network. But for all the machines within the network they can access each other and it doesn't matter if any are wired or wireless.
