Linksys BEFSR41 Router Networking with Static IP Cable Modem

This has been a crazy journey..Im a cabling tech not a network Tech.However,a client of mine asked me to network two pc's for him at another site,and with my slight networking background,I abliged...I have learned alot ,but these ISP are so uncooperative when it comes to support on connecting there modems to networking devices.In any case,im connecting to Roadrunners Static IP modem(1 static for both PC's).Though I have not tried everything yet(such as changing patch cables,etc),I cant get the router to communicate with the cable modem to config.You access this router via your web browser.Could there be a browser setting I could be missing?Now on the other hand,I brought the router home and connected it to my ADSL DSL modem ,used the fast set-up,and was inside the router within minutes.I did however change some LAN settings in my internet browser.I may have answered my own question regarding the browser changes,but not sure.If anyone has experience with these modems and routers,your suggestions would be appreciated.Router Model BEFSR41 Cable\DSL

On the back of that router is a tiny reset button. If you hold it down, while powered on till you see the lights start flashing, it will reset to default.
The BEFSR41 is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Connect a straight-thru to it and give yourself a static IP in that range and see if you can ping it.
If you can, you're good to go....
I think there is a Linksys router forum here also, you might check that out for some tips....
