Links to Excel spreadsheets open in IE and not Excel 1

Hello,

I am working on NT 4.0, and when I click on a link to an Excel Spreadsheet in Internet Explorer, it opens automatically in an IE window, and it won't open in Excel.

If the link to the spreadsheet is in a frame, the spreadsheet will open in the frame.

And no... It is not written to do that. Other people can open the spreadsheet just fine.

Any help??

Check your file associations. If you delete the file extension that it uses, the next time you open the file it will ask you what you want to open it with. Choose Excel and it should be OK from that point on.

Nope... I removed the file associations, and now it asks if I want to save it or open it. I hit open it, and it opens in the web browser still...

Thank you for your help. Do you have any other ideas? I am continuing to try to get this to work, but please reply if you have any ideas. Thanks again!
