I have a user who has a Win2K machine with IE 6.0. When he goes to Comcast.net and clicks on the Mail link, his pointer becomes the little pointing hand, and IE freezes up. On his machine, I went to msn.com and clicked on links--they worked fine. Also, he was able to get to Mail from comcast.net on my machine, so it's not something on our server. However, my machine is WinXP. We can upgrade him to XP, but for reasons I won't go into, would like to try to avoid that. So far, what I've done is: scanned for viruses (clean), scanned for spyware (clean), cleared out his temporary internet files and history, then did a defrag before doing the updates from microsoft.com. I also compared his IE options to mine to see if I had a setting on mine that allowed it, but disallowed on his. Nothing I tried worked, although being on XP, I had some differences with my IE options than he has on 2K. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much.

I would try running the following utility on the problem machine:

windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

Regards.

Thank you, Erik!
That did not resolve my issue. However, I did find a fix. The issue had to do with a policy set on the WinXP machine which would not allow me to access the WinXP machine from another machine when the logon to the other machine doesn't have a password.
Thank you for your efforts!
