Hi,

I am removing links to external workbooks from my workbook.

However, when I try to remove one of the links by clicking "Change Source" and pointing it to itself I get the error "Your formula contains an invalid external reference to worksheet. Verify that the path, workbook, and range name or cell reference are correct, and try again."

Any ideas on how to remove this link?

Thanks,

Chris

I've had this happen in my usually large workbooks. My first step is to look at my defined named range. Go to Insert->Name->Define. Check through those to see if there is a link problem.

Shareware tools do exist to remove it if you can't find it. I haven't had the need but you can try
Good Luck

I wrote a macro to find all names with [ in it and deleted them all already. I can't really download and install 3rd party software onto my workstation as its agains't company policies... Any other ideas? Thanks in advance, Chris,

Does your workbook contains charts that might link to external data that has been removed ?

I don't believe so... But can't be sure. I've just picked it up and found this problem and am not privy to any more information :(
