I have changed a parent form so that it is now unbound and contains 2 cascading cbo boxes instead. Now I have lost the link that I had with the subform and I wish to recreate it so that it reflects the selection in the cbo and only shows the 'filtered records'.

Any help would be appreciated.

Click on subform control, see the property Master/Child link and set it to relevant values

Hi Ken

When I try and do that it tells me I can't link unbound forms.

Hi

I think you will find that you cannot use the wizard, but you can type in (say) cboMyCombo to the "Master" and the appropriate value to the "Child", you need to substitute your control name for cboMyCombo

Hi Ken

I link the master and child fields via the subform properties and it refuses to cooperate.

My master field links to the control on the parent cboCust and the child is the CustKey ID field on the subform. The control on the parent has 3 columns, 2 hidden. One of the hidden fields is the CustKey ID field, can't believe that has anything to do with it.

All looks okay but, doesn't function as no records are shown on the subform.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi

so the link is CustKey ID ?

is the firts column (eg column(0)) of the combo CustKey ID ?

If NOT then you need the (Master) link field to be Comboname.Column(1) or Comboname.Column(2)
